Memoirs of a Mustang: Grade 14 - Page 7 Empty Crazy.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Mon 13 Jan 2014, 11:02 am

    From Saturday.

    Entry 095: Half-Orc High-Elder-Lizard Guy Elite-Master-Cleric.
Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice.
Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, and an apple.

12:00-WARP! On campus, the club got a room for the day for us to gather 'round an play board games. Guess what one group was playing. MUNCHKIN. Took a few rounds to figure out how to play, but yeah, this game is friggin' awesome. I had a slow start, because I had one race-enhancer and one class-enhancer, but no race or class. And then I got another race enhancer and another class-enhancer. So you can imagine my joy when I finally got a race card, and then a class card, and then more race cards (along with a half-breed card). Stacking them all together, I became

    Memoirs of a Mustang: Grade 14 - Page 7 Photo10[/url]
    a Half-Orc High-Elder-Lizard Guy Elite-Master-Cleric.
The group as a whole agreed that the name was awesome. We actually all got to level 9 before someone won. I'm proud of myself.

4:30-Dinner was at the Spoke. I got chicken tenders, fries, Greek salad and Mug root beer.
5:00-We played a game called Olympos. Less enthralling than Minchkin, reminded me of Catan. Didn't do so well. Didn't get enough swords or faith.

This was great. I want more of this.

Memoirs of a Mustang: Grade 14 - Page 7 Empty Without love.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Mon 13 Jan 2014, 11:04 am

    From yesterday.

    Entry 096: Pain
Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice.
Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, and an apple.
Dinner was a cheeseburger, bow-tie pasta, a carrot and milk.

Day was good. Oh wait, no, my mouth hurts like hell because my wisdom tooth is growing and my gums have a small cut. Couldn't even schedule a dentist appointment today.

Memoirs of a Mustang: Grade 14 - Page 7 Empty My TARDIS is leaking.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Tue 14 Jan 2014, 11:41 am

    From yesterday.

    Entry 097: Fencing Folk
7:30-Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice.
    8:30-Calculus.
9:30-Fluids. Today was annoyingly reminiscent of the start of the Thermodynamics course from last semester. Pretty basic stuff so far.
11:30-Organic2. This professor is YES? starting to YES? annoy me. YES?

Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, and an apple.

12:30-Thermodynamics2. This is some pretty heavy stuff. We spent pretty much the entire lecture deriving an equation for the compressability factor Z. Not that class was slow, it's just that complex.
1:30-Odds. Did some problems in class.
4:00-So after classes I walked down to the nearby dental clinic to schedule a check-up. Turns out I can't go until the 29th. My classes keep me busy.

Dinner was a cheeseburger, bow-tie pasta and milk.
7:30-Finally went back to fencing. There's a bunch of new people there, it's great. Didn't do a lot of fencing, everyone else seemed content with talking'n'shit.

I think my mouth is hurting less.

    Entry 098: Graceful Movement
7:30-Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice.
8:30-Thermodynamics2 tutorial. And guess who's back; the guy from the Thermodynamics tutorials last semester. Oh, joy. Weird thing is, the professor for the lectures was there about halfway through. That never happens.
    10:30-CPUMath.
11:30-Organic2, we learned about how Alcohols are synthesized.
12:30-Fluids tutorial, and again, the professor for the course was there. This is cool and all, but why did this never happen in the other three semesters? Now that I think about it, my Odds tutorials are taught by my professor.

2:00-Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, and an apple.
5:00-Marsha came over, 'cause Haley and I are looking for a new apartment. The place we looked at was nice, bigger than what we have right now. The kitchen is really small. But it costs a bit more than what we have right now. We're really thinking of waiting until next January, when the prices drop from the after-school rush.
6:30-Dinner was a cheeseburger, bow-tie pasta, a carrot and milk.

7:30-Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice.
    8:30-Calculus.
9:30-CPUMath tutorial. Real basic MATLAB problems. We were actually split into two rooms because there were too many of us.
11:30-Organic2, more on the synthesis of alcohols.
12:30-Thermodynamics2, Van der Waal's Equation of State.
    1:30-Odds, random variables.

4:00-Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, and an apple.
8:00--Dinner was pasta night. With CHRISTMAS SAUCE.

Oh, hey, I donate blood tomorrow.

12:00-Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, and an apple.

    4:00-Blood donation #11!
8:00-Dinner was going to be a chicken burger, if I read the instructions on the box. I set the mini-oven too high, and the whole thing collapsed. So I went with pasta night. With CHRISTMAS SAUCE.

    8:30-Calculus.

    10:30-Calculus tutorial.
12:00-Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, and an apple.
1:30-Odds, finished up on discrete random variables.

5:00-So this evening CWC was supposed to meet. But the guest speaker we had planned didn't show, so I guess that means everyone should leave. Plenty of cookies, though.

9:00-Dinner was a chicken burger ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME THE PATTY FELL APART IN THE OVEN AGAIN FOR FUCK'S SAKE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS MEAT?!, bow-tie pasta, milk and a very large pickle.

Memoirs of a Mustang: Grade 14 - Page 7 Empty Ham? Not even mad.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Sun 19 Jan 2014, 11:07 pm

    From yesterday.

    Entry 102: Family&Game Night
Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice.
Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, and an apple.

There was a minor WARP Gathering this afternoon. People were given the opportunity to showcase the tabletop games they were planning. There was only one who went up. Since both my games from last semester have been cancelled (I mentioned one back in Entry 041. The group here today told me that if I haven't heard from the other game yet, it's most likely dead), I signed up for this one. Everyone hung around for a little while, and we all departed.

Just in time for dinner with the family, too. Me, Mom, Caley, Christy and Brian went bowling and eating at Palisad. Bryan is insanely good at bowling. I had a small meatlover's pizza with root bear for dinner.

And then, as if all that wasn't enough for one day, the EGA was still gathering today (they ran from 1-10pm). They had a Melee tourney; I arrived just in time for the Finals. Played Melee with a few other people on another TV. Very lax.

Tomorrow? Nothing planned. See, it balances out.

Memoirs of a Mustang: Grade 14 - Page 7 Empty Manic. Monday.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Tue 21 Jan 2014, 10:56 am

    From yesterday.

    Entry 104: Manic Monday
7:30-Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice.
8:30-Calculus, heat equation (for linear objects), started a bit on the Laplace (potential) equation.
9:30-Fluids, talked about pressure and hydrostatics.
11:20-Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz an apple and milk.

11:30-Organic2, finished up on the synthesis of alcohols.
12:30-Thermodynamics, talked about different cubic equations of state.
1:30-Odds, continued on with continuous random variables.
2:30-Fluids lab. It was real easy. The TA led us through it, and we got done in half an hour.
5:00-Dinner was a chicken burger, bow-tie pasta, a carrot and milk.

5:55-There's a car in the intersection at the bottom of UC Hill with it's bumper fallen off.
6:00-CWC meeting. We discussed roadblocks in getting our writing done, and did a writing prompt ("At what point would you want someone gone, and what would you be willing to do to get rid of them?").
7:30-Fencing, foil night. At the end of the meeting, we split into two teams and had a small tournament. It was fun; I scorekept. I actually did really well in my second match.

Troy (a fencing exec, during the meeting) came to me, and told me that the gym staff told him that jeans are not allowed at the gym, and that I must stop wearing them at the gym. On its own, that request is understandable and respectable. But I have been wearing nothing but jeans to these meetings for the past one and a half years. And I got away with it? Hot damn, I'm magnificent!

7:30-Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice.
    8:30-Thermodynamics2 tutorial.
10:30-CPUMath, started on Roots and Optimization.
    11:30-Organic2, reactions with alcohols.
    12:30-Fluids tutorial.

1:30-Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz an apple and orange juice. I'm out of milk, you see. I'd get more, but it's too cold out.
5:00-Dinner was a chicken burger, bow-tie pasta, a carrot and milk.

Entry 106: So I'm the Guy who Knows About Basketball
7:30-Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice.
    8:30-Calculus, the Laplace Equation.
9:30-CPUMath tutorial quiz. Funny thing; they intended to only be available at an exact time, but I found a way to access it right away.
    11:30-Organic2, more on alcohol reactions.
    12:30-Thermodynamics2.
    1:30-Odds. Have a test tomorrow.

3:00-Went to the store to buy some apples, carrots, milk and cheese. So I was waiting in line, heard to guys behind me talk about March Madness. They mentioned how there was a $billion prize for anyone who made a perfect bracket. One guy didn't know what sport MM was; that's when I spoke up. Had a nice little chat afterwards.

8:30-CPUMath, more on Roots and Optimization.
    10:30-Thermodynamics2.
11:30-My first Odds quiz. The most frustrating thing happened. So I finish the test at the last (of 48) minute, and I feel there's something not right about my answers for the last question. The professor tells us time's up, I look at my work, and I see it. One term with a misplaced decimal point. I realize that if it were at its correct amount, my answers would be far different and make much more sense. I'm stuck, looking at this quiz, unable to do anything as the TA picks it up. And I want so badly to just erase the decimal point it's just so small. Other than that I did fantastic.

Lunch was a peanut-butter and JAM sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, an apple and milk.
Dinner was a chicken burger, bow-tie pasta, a carrot and milk.
Tonight, Haley and I went to look at a house for sale across the street. It's real cheap; if we manage to get three more people on board, me and Haley will each save about $100 from the rent we currently pay. Turns out it looks pretty nice, too. The rooms are nice and spacious, nothing's wrecked. We looked at one room in the basement that we figured would be mine. I opened these doors on the wall, thinking it was the circuit breaker. It was the same general size, shape and placement on a wall. I open it up, what do I see. A shrine to Josh Hutchinson.

    Just...okay.

    12:30-Thermodynamics2.
1:30-FORGOT MY LAB COAT AT HOME.

2:30-Fluids lab, the rotameter. And this was about the most tedious lab ever. The one experiment involved measuring heights for 9 different percentages at one pressure; then repeating that process for four other pressures. That amounts to 45 individual measurements. And then we had to measure 15 (albeit short) flow times. The funny thing is, our TA told us that we were one of the fastest groups for this lab, taking just over and hour rather than the usual two hours.

Dinner was a chicken burger, KD, milk and a carrot.

    11:30-Organic2, spectroscopy.
    12:30-Thermodynamics2.
    1:30-Odds, the Poisson Distribution.

4:00-Had a dental check-up. It went really, really well actually. The people were very nice, my insurance checked out fine, and it turns out I have perfect teeth. They even sent news of my wisdom tooth to Western University's hospital so that I could eventually get it pulled out. And the dentist is a chemical engineer! In fact, there was another second-year chemical engineering student in the other room!!.
6:00-CWC meeting. We discussed dialogue. I ended up writing a story about a poltergeist.

Dinner was pasta night. With CHRISTMAS SAUCE. But also regular sauce because the Christmas sauce ran out.

Entry 112: Western's Career Fair II
7:30-Breakfast was Apple Cinnamon Cheerios and orange juice.
Lunch was PIZZA POCKETS, cheddar cheese, Ritz, and an apple.
    8:30-CPUMath.
    10:30-Thermodynamics.
    11:30-No Odds tutorial.
12:30-Checked out Chem Club for the first time. They're not very big meetings, taking place in less than an hour and featuring only about twenty students from across all four years of (bio)chemical engineering. We mainly discussed future events. Apparently there's a laser tag battle with civil engineering coming up next week. It's scheduled Wednesday evening, but us second years have a midterm then, so it might get moved.

1:30-Career Fair. Again. There's a list of all of the stations, organized by which faculty of students is usually selected. What they don't tell you is that most of them don't take chemical engineers. And one or two didn't take engineers at all. Okay. I managed to hand out my resume to a few stations, and got plenty of business cards.

    Dinner was pasta night.

Memoirs of a Mustang: Grade 14 - Page 7 Empty Entry ununtrium.

    From yesterday.

    Entry 113: Begin Tabletopping
7:30-Breakfast was Apple Cinnamon Cheerios and orange juice.
    8:30-Calculus.
    9:30-Fluids.
10:30-Calculus test. I feel really, really good about it. There was just one big question, and I totally knew what to do. One problem, though. The answer to the problem was meant to be an equation. A specific equation, but still typically meant to be left with variables. At the end of the quiz, my final answer was 0. Just 0. It could very well be the correct answer, but it seems unlikely.
11:30-Lunch was a peanut butter and JAM sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, and an apple.

Finished up a thermodynamics2 assignment during the afternoon.
5:00-Had my first ever tabletop session, the beginning of an Eclipse Phase campaign. It was a short session due to the GM having an exam the next day. I spent most of it making my character (everyone else already had made theirs), but even that was exciting. It would have been better if my mouth didn't feel like shit. Yeah, another wisdom tooth is poking out. Put a damper on things halfway though.

    Dinner was pasta night.
The tooth doesn't hurt anymore. False alarm?

Memoirs of a Mustang: Grade 14 - Page 7 Empty Funnily enough, there was an actual Charity Ball going on tonight.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Mon 03 Feb 2014, 10:36 pm

    From Saturday.

Entry 114: We'll Have Ourselves a Ball at the Crawl
Breakfast was Apple Cinnamon Cheerios and orange juice.
Lunch was a peanut butter and JAM sandwich PIZZA POCKETS, cheddar cheese, Ritz, an apple and milk.

Walking downtown to meet up with CWC today was nightmarish. It was practically hailing outside. And there was slush everywhere.
There were fewer of us than for the last bookstore crawl. Again, I didn't buy anything. I was just happy to come along for the ride.

For dinner, we went to the Symposium again. I had a gourmet cheese burger with a Greek salad and chocolate milkshake. We actually ate early because we decided we wouldn't make it to the last bookstore before it closed. We ate so early that one guy, who planned to come just for the dinner, got there right when were all done eating. I got a dessert after that; a chocolate brownie cheesecake.

Reading's fun. You know what you should read? You should read Worm.
