Memoirs of a Mustang: Grade 14 - Page 5 Empty I'm afraid to touch it.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Sun 01 Dec 2013, 12:35 am

    From yesterday.

    Entry 073: Crash into Hello
    7:30-Breakfast was NESQUIK CEREAL.
    8:30-Calculus.
    9:30-Thermodynamics
    10:30-Calculus tutorial.

    12:30-Organic.
3:00-So I'm just writing up a weekly Thermodynamics assignment in TEB on campus, when a staff member gives me leftovers from a fruit tray because she has to throw them out. That was pretty cool.

Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, an apple and orange juice.
Dinner was a chicken burger, bow-tie pasta, half of a huge carrot and chocolate milk.

I replaced a burnt-out light bulb in my ceiling fan with the one from my lamp. A few hours later, it pops out and crashes onto the floor. Thankfully, it was incandescent, so no mercury leaked out and killed me. The weird thing is that only the glass part came out: the screwing part is still in there.

    Entry 074: London Smashfest #2.
Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice.
Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, an apple and orange juice.

Was more successful with the bus this time around. Still got off too early. The Smashfest was at the same location. There was more people than before. I didn't get very far this time either, winning one match before getting knocked out. I made it to the top 20 out of 24 competitors. Woo.

Went to Quiznos for dinner. Took the bus partway home.

    Entry 075: Missing Assignment.
Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice.
Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, an apple and orange juice.
Dinner was a chicken burger with bow-tie pasta and half of a huge carrot.

Got an e-mail from (whom I presume to be) my FunBEE TA, saying that they haven't gotten the latest assignment from me. This earns much WTFery from me, seeing as I totally submitted it. What the hell gives?

Memoirs of a Mustang: Grade 14 - Page 5 Empty NOT DEAD.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Wed 04 Dec 2013, 11:16 pm

    From Monday

    Entry 076: Addressing Some Issues
    7:30-Breakfast was NESQUIK CEREAL.
    8:30-Calculus.
    9:30-Thermodynamics.
10:30-Processes. So I got an assignment back the week before, and did real poorly. 2/10. I went to the professor, because the TA didn't really explained what I did wrong. The professor told me she's look at it herself. Now, I get it handed back to me. 9/10. 9/10.
11:30-FunBEE. Last lecture of the semester. Ehh.

1:30-Communications. Last lecture of the semester. This pains me.
3:00-Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, an apple and orange juice.

Fencing Club was planning a dinner at the Spoke tonight to commemorate the end of the semester. I decided to go. The Spoke is weird. It looks like a bar, a la the Creamery, but you order food like at a cafeteria. I got chicken fingers, fries, onion rings, Greek salad and root beer.

After some e-mailing, I think we figured out where my assignment is. So that's a good thing.

    Entry 077: It Doesn't Last
    7:30-Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES.
    8:30-Organic lecture and last quiz.
    10:30-Processes.

11:30-Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, an apple and orange juice.
1:30-Last Thermodynamics lecture with new material. Okay.
2:30-The last FunBEE lab session. Can't say I'll miss this.

Dinner was a chicken burger, bow-tie pasta, carrot matter and milk.

7:30-Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice.
11:00-Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, an apple and orange juice.

12:30-Communications tutorial. And finally my group presented our proposal, an overpass on Adelaide Street. After the tutorial, we got together to finish up our other big project, the Talking Document that was on the same subject as our presentation. This was the last day of Communications, and we just got done with 30% of our final grade. Ridiculous.

5:30-Bought some orange juice. I'm out of orange juice.
Dinner was a chicken burger, bow-tie pasta, carrot matter and milk.

I used to say "half of a huge carrot" to refer to when I didn't eat a whole carrot because it was too big. I've gotten sick of that and now just call it carrot matter.

7:30-Breakfast was NESQUIK CEREAL. I'm all out. The kitchen's a mess; Haley's likes to do laundry in megaloads. And Kitty pissed all over them. That's what you get Haley. THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR TRYING TO BE CLEAN.
8:30-Thermodynamics tutorial, last one. There was no FunBEE after this.

1:00-Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, an apple and orange juice.

5:30-Dinner was a pork chop ohp, nope, have to wait for it to thaw.
8:00-Dinner was a chicken burger, bow-tie pasta, carrot matter and milk.

Entry 080: Last Day of Classes
7:30-Breakfast was CHOCOLATE CHIP WAFFLES and orange juice. Out of waffles.
    8:30-Calculus.
    9:30-Thermodynamics.
    10:30-Calculus tutorial.

    12:30-Organic. All done. Classes over.
During the afternoon, I finished up my last thermodynamics mini-assignment. I actually saw my professor walk by. He stopped and saw me doing the work.

Lunch was a peanut-butter sandwich, cheddar cheese, Ritz, an apple and milk.
Family reunion tomorrow. We're doing a baby charity thing, so I need to get some baby food. I went to the grocery store, and bought a few other things in the meantime.
Dinner was pizza pockets, bow-tie pasta and carrot matter. I reaaly need to do some more grocery shopping.

But no time for that; I have a family reunion tomorrow.

My auny and uncle picked me up to go to Waterdown (not Waterford) for the big Salari Christmas. It was a good time, got to see everyone. And I picked up a baby. I picked up a baby. I've never done that before. Not standing up. It was exhilarating.

    I stayed overnight.

    Entry 082: The Downtown Subway
Back from Waterdown. Lunch was pizza pockets cheddar cheese, Ritz, an apple and milk.

I got a Subway card from the Salari Christmas; turns out it has $25 on it. So I looked on Google for nearby Subways. The closest one is a half-hour walk away. Rrrr.

So dinner was Subway. It was right in the middle of downtown, so my run was very scenic. That was good, oughta do it again. And I can.

I've got a real bad cold. Second one this school year. Did a little grocery shopping.
    Breakfast was CINNAMON TOAST CRUNCH.
Lunch was pizza pockets cheddar cheese, Ritz, an apple and orange juice.
Dinner was Subway. Funny thing actually. Turns out there's a Subway on Adelaide. Like, just a few blocks from my house. So I didn't need to do an hour's worth of jogging the night before. Blll.

    Entry 084: Calculus Midterm
    Breakfast was CINNAMON TOAST CRUNCH.
Calculus midterm was today. I didn't do so hot. Also it is cold. It is cold. It is SO FUCKING COLD.

So I'm in the Student Centre going to Prof. Schmidt's office to see if my assignment had been marked yet (it hadn't). When all of a sudden, guess who? Mr. Stevens. Mr. Stevens MR. FUCKING STEVENS WORKS AT WESTERN! For everyone who isn't Sauxuas, Mr. Stevens was a substitute for my French teacher back in grade 5 when she was on maternity leave. He travels a lot, explaining his presence at Western. Apparently he'd be leaving at the end of the semester. He actually didn't recognize me before I told him my name.

Lunch was a peanut butter sandwich, bread, cheddar cheese an apple and orange juice.
Dinner was a cheeseburger, bow-tie pasta, carrot matter and milk.
Well my cold's got better over the course of the day.

    Breakfast was CINNAMON TOAST CRUNCH.
Organic midterm today. It went well. So I'm writing it, I finish without rushing, but I don't know how much time I have left (my watch strap snapped, so I can't wear my watch anymore). I ask the TA, and he holds up one finger and whispers something. I presume he said "minute" So I'm thinking oh, good. So I hand in my exam and walk home. I check the time on my iPhone after about 20 minutes of walking. It says 11:27. The exam was scheduled for 9:00-12:00.

    ...Shit.
He didn't say one minute. He said one hour.

Lunch was a peanut butter sandwich, bread, cheddar cheese an apple and orange juice.
Dinner was a cheeseburger, bow-tie pasta, carrot matter and milk.

Tonight I started on a little special Christmas project. It's going not-terrible so far.

Caley stopped by today. It's really cold out, so she needed a sort of halfway pit stop to the mall. We watched some of a Happy Endings episode with Haley.

My Christmas project...is CAKES!!! I baked CAKES for everybody! And by everybody, I mean my sisters and mom. I iced the first today, and baked the second.

Tonight, I had my Processes midterm. Was in a building that I'd never been in before. Nice building. And test itself went, really well. Stupidly well, in fact. And the professor? Was knitting. She said that she gets distracted by students too much to read or do work.

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING RATHER DIFFERENT BUT NOT COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BECAUSE IT'S NOT LIKE I'VE TRANSFORMED INTO SOME SORT OF HEDGEHOG-SPIDER HYBRID THAT SKULKS AROUND TEXAS STEALING COWS FROM RICH FARMERS BUT ONLY FIVE-YEAR OLD COWS BECAUSE THEY TASTE GOOD AND THEY'RE ALSO GOOD FOR MY FIGURE MY FIGURE IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME

    ANYWAY.

    THIS. IS.

    THE PUERTO RICO INTERLUDES

Let me start with yesterday, me and my sister flying here. My aunt and uncle drove us to Buffalo (the border crossing went real smoothly). See, me and my sister took a short flight from Buffalo to Philadelphia, where we would then fly straight to San Juan. There was actually another flight to Philadelphia that came before our scheduled one. So we were able to take that flight and get to Philidelphia a few hours earlier.

Our first plane was small, only nine rows and four seats per row. I got the window seat. So the plane starts going, but it's just driving along the road, not flying yet. So I'm wondering when it's actually going to take off, when VROOM. The plane starts going way faster and launches off. The view was terrible to start; fog  and clouds all around. Then, halfway through, there was a clearing down below.

    It was magnificient.

Then the sun poked out about 3/4 through the flight and everything started shining. Fun note: our original flight to Philadelphia got delayed due to bad weather. We didn't really have lunch. I ate a protein bar and drank chocolate milk. Caley offered me half of her trail mix.

We got there at around 1:30pm, about when our original flight was going to start. We skyped our parents as we waited for our 6:00pm flight to San Juan. Dinner was McDonalds. Later, we got an announcement that our flight was overbooked. Our guess is that some soldiers got on last-minute (our uncle told us that's a thing that happens). We got on after a short delay, but it seems that 10 people were kicked off of their flight. What the hell.

The second flight was longer, 3 hours. The plane was much bigger, dozens of rows, 6 seats per row. I got the middle seat, but it was dark out so I couldn't see anything at all (we flew over a lot of water). It wasn't until we got right over Puerto Rico that we saw any lights. Also today I discovered that plane landings make me nauseous.

So my sister and I land in the airport, and we realize that we have no idea where Dad/Natacha is. Fortunately, she was just by the door that was closest to us. Dad was there too, and Anthony. It was a 40-ish-minute drive to their house in Vega Alta, a part of San Juan. It was 1:00am (local time) by the time we got unpacked in their house, so we went to bed shortly.

So here I am, for two weeks.
