So I saw PS All-Stars in person for the first time at Geek Week. Didn't play any, just watched a few matches. The inner Infamous fan in me squees for Cole McGrath and Alden's Tower as a stage.
So, from what I've seen, it seems less aeroynamic than Smash. It's not just that it's floaty, like Brawl, but aerial movement in general appears more restricted. Someone told me that each stage is a mix of two different franchises, which legitimately sounds incredible. Alden's Tower is apparently mixed with stuff from the Sly Cooper franchise.
The roster had about 20 characters (and there were two Coles. Wat). While that is reasonable in that it's the premier game in the...series?...it's still competing with Brawl, which has 35 characters. One of the players told me that there's no unlockables, so it seems all you get is the 20. The roster itself was good, I suppose. There was Sly, Cole, Big Daddy, Raiden, Kratos, Parappa, and others, a few of whom I didn't know. I'm pretty sure Sackboy was there.
That name is still fucking stupid.

Agree, the name is dumb, and yes you're right about aerial restriction, in general its a lot more restricted than smash.
the game is weird, it trys to play like smash while you're moving around, but as soon as you start a combo it switches to traditional fighter feel, only with smash style free form comboes instead of button comboes. (although it is focused on dumb button combos like square -> square -> triangle, smash is amazing, its not like you can be like.. "yo.. b -> a -> a -> z is an awesome combo do that", you just learn the game till you can play on your toes well enough to follow up on the spot which creates creative comboes every time.)

It has such an un-loveable, KIFE roster. The whole game as a whole is one of the most souless fighting games i've ever seen.

I like to think there's a reason I'm against PS-AS aside from deep-seated fanboyism, something that's beyond a "kife" feeling. There's nothing wrong with the idea, is there? Aside from the blatant off-ripping.
Actually, maybe that's just why. Maybe I feel cheated by Sony for ripping off from my beloved video game franchise. It's not like the roster's bad. Sure, it's different in the feel of the characters, but there's nothing wrong with that. They're mascots, just like Nintendo.

Yeah the name is pretty atrocious lol most of them are not even all stars.

I just realized....fucking, BIG DADDY. For PS3, Bioshock came out a YEAR after it came out on 360 and PC. Are they fucking, retarded? In no way is he a PS All-Star.

wow its been a while since iv done anything for this thread, but i figured this was important.
It has now (since writing) been 119 days that the lead designers of the "ARMA" franchise Ivan Buchta, and Martin Pezlar have been held in captivity for the crime of espionage on Greek soil. The two where obtaining footage as well as some photos of military bases while in Greece. This at first seems only harsh. Until you realize that the two were wrongfully accused as spies for the "enemies of Greece" before they even left there plane. Worse still its not even illegal to take pictures or footage around or of the military bases they visited. For they are readily available for view on Google maps as well as Google earth. All i can really do is help spreed awareness of this most unfortunate, and crule act towards these two game designers who were just trying to do there best to please there fans by making the best game for them as possible.

Update to the past story of the arrested developers. A campaign has been started, and much needed support is coming in. Also on that note. THe two have now been in jail (as of writing) for 127 days.

Well it finnaly happened. Due to financial problems THQ is finally dead. Thankfully the development teams (or at least the larger ones) have already been bought up by different publishers during the THQ auction. Now Sega, Take-Two, Crytek, and Koch Media. Have swooped in and acquired the ownership of many of THQ's developing firms. Unfortunately this also means many THQ employees have now lost there jobs. Hopefully they will be able to find work in the near future.
