It looks pretty good, I just hate Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf, wish they would of got Jim Carrey to reprise his role.Vyzor wrote:IDk about you guys, but I'm pretty hyped for the new Series of Unfortunate Events show coming to netflix.

AND it uses music from Theophany's second Majora's Mask album.Alpha Delfa wrote:Don't know if you guys have seen this yet or not, it's about how the skull kid gets the Majora's Mask, sick animation and kind of freaky.

I had a PS2 game based off the movie.
Can't be any worse than that movie they made...what, a decade ago?Vyzor wrote:IDk about you guys, but I'm pretty hyped for the new Series of Unfortunate Events show coming to netflix.
Actually, was that movie even that bad?

Re: Le Cinéma
best line in the watchmen movie
"To distill so specific a form, from all that chaos, is like turning air into gold" - Dr. Manhattan
NO CONTEST
mostly because the delivery is SICK
actually a few more off the top of my head
"I'm not a comic book villian. Do you seriously think I would explain my masterstroke to you if there were even the slightest possibility you could affect the outcome?" - Adrian
but that line is better in the book because then its super META BOIS

Isn't the line "I'm not a Republican serial villain"?lil' poopie boy wrote:"I'm not a comic book villian. Do you seriously think I would explain my masterstroke to you if there were even the slightest possibility you could affect the outcome?" - Adrian

Re: Le Cinéma
My favourite watchmen line is "dog found dead in alleyway, tire tread on burst stomach".
or
"Rorschach's journal:"
Btw, seeing as how I did not finish the comic, I must ask, what was the pirate comic in there for?

Re: Le Cinéma
there is some thematic parallel between the pirate comic and the actual story but I can't remember..
Either way, holy shit the pirate comic is so good. Want me to bring it back home over the break? YOU CAN BORROW IT

Re: Le Cinéma
Holy these fiends approaching some 4am stuff eh? YA LITTLE NASTY
And Ty, in watchmen there is a kid who buys comics from this street vendor every week. It always flips back to showing their relationship amongst the turmoil of everything that's going on in the watchmen story, as well as showing all the issues of some pirate themed comic book that the kid buys.
The comic is about some pirate lost at see, trying to find his way home.

Re: Le Cinéma
Huh, that sounds pretty cool. I should finish watchmen, since it's so good. I think it's a better comic than V for Vendetta was. Man, if you don't mind, I'd totally like to borrow it from you

the themes in the pirate comic kinda metaphorically parallel the main story

Re: Le Cinéma
Do yourself a favour and check out Manchester by the Sea, saw it Friday, waited till now to give me some distance before I reviewed it, after all, once upon a time, walked out of Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen, and gave it a 9, those were dark times. Anyways, Casey Affleck gives a brilliant, repressed, and ultimately haunting performance, definitely gonna win the Oscar for best actor this year. Michelle Williams is a supporting actress who doesn't have much screen time at all, but nails every minute she's in. The rest of the supporting cast is also really strong, making this is one of the best, if not the best, acted movies I have ever seen. 8.8/10.

But seeing the Amazon brand show up in a movie trailer was fucking bizarre. Like, I'm aware they've expanded their business in the past years to this point, but it's still disorienting as cunts.
