More like Jared DEPLETO!
I've heard about the Joker cuts as well.Vyzor wrote:I also heard joker had a lot more screen time but they cut out a lot of his scenes for some unknown reason. I'm still gunna give it a watch thoughlil' poopie boy wrote:so i hear suicide squad is trash
I don't know if you've already heard, but the Joker's actor, Jared Leto, was being an obnoxious asshole to everyone on set. He sent used condoms, bullets, and dead (or maybe living?) mice to his co-workers. All in the name of "method acting".
I would not blame them if they cut out his scenes just to get back at him. Also maybe he just didn't give a good performance.

Sauron's a pansy.
So I watched The Fellowship of the Ring. It was fun. And now I know exactly where Dragon Age: Origins got its soundtrack.

Gollum! Gollum!
So I just finished The Two Towers
There's quite a few obvious greenscreens in this movie. That was normal in the early 2000s, right?
And the award for Best Scene goes to the Ents' siege on Isengaard, when one Ent gets set on fire, and then a few minutes later, after the Ents break a dam, that same Ent douses itself out in the flood. Fuckin' great.
Huh, the movie kinda ends early. I recall a few more scenes in the book at the end. Were they moved to The Return of the King?
Ohhhh, "gollum"'s the sound he makes!

Next up: A movie about BEARS?!!! No
Watched Return of the King last night.
Frodo and Sam's journey is easily the most interesting part of the whole story. Gandalf's a superman who only sometimes saves the day for Reasons. Legolas and Gimli are pretty boring by themselves, only interesting when they banter. Aragorn's alright, as are Pippin and Merry.
But the Ringbearer and his aide; they're great. Two little hobbits sneaking for several months into Hell-on-Earth, their only guide a guy who's, half the time, on the verge of slitting their throats for the One Ring.
The intro's fuckin' scary, man. Smeagol fuckin' chokin' his friend to death and mutating into an imp beats any Ringwraith's appearance by a mile.
People overreact to that epilogue. For a 10+ hour story, having half an hour for tying up plotlones ain't so bad.

Yeah man the scene where frodo cant walk anymore so sam picks him up always chokes me up. definatly best part of the books and the movies.
ill be less specific in saying that frodo and sams journey in the books and movie are the best parts, other than maybe the music

Re: Le Cinéma
Really? Btw, I was wondering if someone could watch this video for me when they're drunk.
Apparently there is some pretty funky stuff going on. If you watch it before you're drunk though, nothing special happens and the video can never be watched again. SO WAIT UNTIL SUNDAY WHEN WE'RE HAMMERED. THEN WATCH IT>

Re: Le Cinéma
Looks good.
Has anybody here seen Dexter?
If you haven't, I would highly recommend season 1. It's based off a novel, and avoids the typical
long drawn out tv series cliches and inevitable decrease in quality (because its the first season). But what is important is that the first season has no major cliff hangers, its honestly just a full circle story that feels more like a long movie. And it has next to no filler (it does have filler, but its not like obvious, desperate, walking dead like, hobbit like, or anything of that sort. Its mostly sub plots that work towards character development. Some of these are a little petty or irrelevant, but i assume they are set up for later seasons when the material becomes original and not based off the novel.)
Anyways, the show is like crime-drama but with a sort of dark humor to it. And its not edgy, for those of you (duncan and rory, im looking at you) that will probably dismiss it right away because its about a serial killer and blood and whatnot. YOU KNOW WHAT, DARK SOULS IS EDGY.
But in all seriousness, watch it. Season 1 is 12 episodes, really well made, high production value, great music, great atmosphere, great plot, great acting and characters. Its not perfect by any means, it has several issues that ive noticed that dont make a ton of sense, and some things that are just inherent in tv shows that bug me, like things just leading to nothing or not being brought up again. PRETTY GOOD THO. idk

It's on Netflix.
Watched The Road to El Dorado yesterday. Gorgeous-looking. Really funny in the first third. Decent movie afterwards.

Re: Le Cinéma
My parents watched Dexter. Looked like it was pretty decent, but like all good shows ever made it had a really crappy ending. Doesn't seem like a show I would sit down and watch by myself to be honest but I think it could be enjoyable to watch with a friend or something

Re: Le Cinéma
in fact i was just doing some internet scanning, and it appears that the show is bad after season 1.
season 1 is very complete and could stand by itself, like ive said, and i intend to not watch anymore of it. I would highly recommend it.
also just saw a thing saying that if dexter had ended at season 1 it wouldve gone down in history as a cult masterpiece similar to Firefly.

Re: Le Cinéma
I highly recommend watching the 1982 movie "The Thing". Its got some good action as well as some cool/kife monster scenes. The movie is actually very smart and will keep you guessing long after the movie is over. Great characters especially in Kurt Russel's RJ Macready, seriously watchable guy.
