Pokémon - Page 6 Empty How about that.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Tue 08 Jan 2013, 5:01 pm

Okay, now that I've had time to collect myself.
I've said it before: IV and V feel like two halves of one generation. IV has the expansion in gameplay, V has everything else. And they're both on DS. My point: generation VI coming out two years after BW isn't all that surprising.

We had I in 1996 (in Japan).
    II three years later (1999).
III four years after that (2003).
IV four years (2007, with V four years after that in 2011).
And VI six years later, (2013). The way I see it, this is the true gen V, and it's simply been delayed by the true gen IV (BW). So I welcome it. Plus, the fire-starter is a fox. There's no way they're gonna make it a fire-fighting type, right? Right?

And, I'll be honest, X and Y sound like cool titles. Let's see if the plot delivers.

VI being the true V? you gotta be joking -_- for gen 5 they even made BW2 which got a much bigger spotlight and had way more changes than any other gen specialty. its almost like BW2 is a new gen on its own after V (or at least gen 5.5 or something)

I don't see why you think of IV and V as the same gen lol.

Chespin is easily one of the best grass starters so far.

Fennekin is good, on par with a lot of fire starters.

Froakie is alright, could have looked better.

BUT, we don't even know what their evolutions looks like yet so they might be even better

Pokémon - Page 6 Empty More thoughts.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Wed 09 Jan 2013, 1:08 pm

I watched the trailer yesterday, with sound today.

These games are going to be fucking amazing.

They are beautiful. This is the artstyle that the 3D games should have had. And is that track playing in the trailer apart of the actual OST? Are we gonna have an orchestrated main series Pokemon game.

    I so very much want a 3DS.

Chespin looks cool. Can't exactly tell what animal it's supposed to be. Weasel? Otter?
Froakie kinda looks like a poison dart frog. Water/Poison starter?

Oh, and the legendaries' names are Xerneas and Yveltal. Does Game Freak not want us to be able to pronounce their Pokemon's names or something. Xerneas...Zur-nee-uhz?

llmao yveltal? DA FUQ. that dun even look like any language i know.

also yes I agree they /look/ nice. I think they should have NOT released black and white when they did, released them as these games in this style RIGHT when 3ds came out (would have sold SOOO many 3dses) and then made grey.

but w.e can't complain they gon do what they gon do. but I think they should have done that and then made one 3d rpg on the wiiu and then ended the main series.

Oh, imagine just having a pokemon battle going on between the Wii U controllers. Like being able to make your choices on the Wii U screen, or even being able to just switch out the battle completely, footage and all to the wii U controller

    Prediction:

    Overall best starters: Generation I

    with Generation II
    Generation III
    Generation IV
    Generation V
    Generation VI
    following in that order.

    Favourite starter: Charamander

with every 1st gen following after
then every fire starter following after
then every other starter after cause no one gives a shiitteee

Pokémon - Page 6 Empty My turn.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Mon 14 Jan 2013, 4:07 pm

This is so very unfair. Why are we throwing VI into this? We haven't even seen their evolutions, let alone stats. We know everything about the previous generations and virtually nothing about this one. It's going to get torn apart by the voters.

That all aside, I'd like to vote. I'm wondering about what criteria I should use when voting. I'm thinking:
    -Visual design.
    -Typing.

With all that considered, my rankings (not predictions, just my preferences) are:
    5. V
    4. IV
    3. II
    2. I
    1. III
As far as I'm concerned, IV and V had no fire starters. I like mostly all visual designs of starters, the only exception being the Tepig line. I like III and I for the dual-types it gave to two of its starters. I prefer III because its dual-types fit better.

Wow how SAD. I just voted, my prediction for the best overall starters was right pretty much. man, generic pokemon fans.

    Generation I = 68.89%
    Generation II = 13.11%
    Generation III = 9.49%
    Generation IV = 4.75%
    Generation V = 1.39%
    Generation VI = 2.37%

    That is really really sad.

Oh and my prediction for the starters was right pretty much too. Charmanderrrrr wooo. Then each 1st gen, then pikachu (fucking joke) Then each fire starter is the highest rank in each of their gens. Except for Mudkip is highest in 3rd gen cause I HERD U LIEK MUDKIPS MEEEMEE SO FUNNEEEY

i think cinde and tota are awesome and chicka is not bad at all. I do think that 1st gen has the best starters however. But overall totadile is my favourite. Honestly, the starters kinda got worse as they went. like imo its 1, 2, 3, 5, 4 cause 4th gen is trash. i fucking hate piplup, so gay, empoleon, so gay, infernape is the only half decent one but i still dont think hes better than any single starter from gens 1-3. Torterra is garbage. I also like squirtle and bulbasaur more than i like charmander...

I think that 1st gen starters are honestly among the most generic looking starters. Only reason people like them is nostalgia. All the gens after them are more creative looking and like i've said before, if 1st gen was 4th or 5th gen, everyone would be like "GAAAAY!"

Say what you will, but 1st gen is easily the most bland looking generation
