Fallout 3: Buggy, it can be too easy at moments, and the way you talk to people can brake immersion.

Rome; Total War: the combat is as good as people says it is but the campaign doesn't hold up to the later installments in the franchise. which could ruin my point, but everyone still says that Rome is still the best one in all most every way, but it's not. The campaign ai will constantly make dumb decisions and harm there own people to build armies you cant fight, plus diplomacy is a pain in the ass. Although the campaign in Rome still beats the empire and Napoleon ones.

The ones I like
Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim: They are all buggy, and have real bad immersion problems (less so in Skyrim)The User interface, and combat in Morrowind is crap, Talking to people sucks in Oblivion, and Skyrim's story was too short.

Mass Effect 2: Not enough variation in combat, the combat was focused way too much on the shooting mechanics only, the RPG elements of the last game was dumbd way down, plus they tried to make it too mature by adding in a lot of gore and language that wasn't needed. The swearing was fine in the last game, and there was just enough blood. But they just had to add in buckets of cod face jam blood too make the game more appealing. Oh and they put way too much time into making every one seem sexy to the point where there are just stupid amounts of fan servicey but and tit shots, it just comes off as really lame.

The ones I hate (or just dislike)
Red Dead Redemption: terrible controls, bugged like hell, and its pretentious because it tries too hard to be an homage spaghetti westerns that it hurts the story.

Grand theft Auto IV: 90% of the missions are escort missions, I really disliked or just hated all of the characters, the controls might be some of the worst i have ever used, and it committed the cardinal sin of gaming, and is just plain boring.

Metal Gear Solid 4; Guns of the patriot: Absolutely stupid plot, terrible dialogue, awful humor, and its just really badly written. There is more than one occasion where a serious, and important moment is ruined because someone craps themselves.

Informative thread. I certainly agree with all the points you made about GTA4, Red Dead, and Elder Scrolls games. The other ones I don't have enough experience with but it's good to hear that they are over rated lol. I personally can't think of many.

Team Fortress 2: This gets so much praise. Me disliking this game is similar to how I get bashed for liking pulp fiction. It's insanely popular, yet I still don't like it. The graphics and maps leave me with a sense of emptiness; it just doesn't sit right in my stomach whenever I play the game. They try to make all the classes so different that I feel like they're all so limited (of course, it's a class based fps so it's the point, yet classes don't feel as limited in games like Battlefront 2). I don't enjoy playing as a single class, sniper is the closest I get to enjoying the game because the boasts the most traditional fps mechanics. The menu interface is TERRIBLE, it's always glitchy, picking a game to play online feels like you're in a maze.

TF2 is Valves best game.

Resistance 3 is overrated, it is awful. Like its worse in every way when compared to R2. And the story, voice acting, and map design is BULLCRAP. "Don't FUCK with the wardens!" riiiip offfff of...

Half-Life 2: OVERRATED! Empty. This game is devoid of life, and I don't mean its post apocalyptic so theres no living people.... it has ZERO personality! He's the quick summary: Travel along some tunnels, shoot some guys, get a briefing about going to the next outpost. Get in vehicle, drive forward for a few mins, find that a gate is blocking out. Get out of vehicle, shoot some guys, open gate. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Finally get to outpost, have big fight, then... NEW VEHICLE!

Pokemon Red and Blue (original): People nostalgia too much over these. Great games but definitely get overrated by fans. The fan base treats this game like a god and think all the problems with it are fine. FireRed and LeafGreen are better and fix all the problems. But yet, people still say Red and Blue are best. It also doesn't help that the majority of the fanbase complains other gens are uncreative. If the 1st gen pokemon were 5th gen instead, majority of people would hate them. But again, i'm not saying Red and Blue are bad. They are still fun games.

No More Heroes: You never hear anyone complain about this. It always ends up on top 10 Wii games lists. It's shit. It has some of the most repetitive gameplay I've ever seen. You use all the same move (there's only one basically) and every enemy is the same guy, same voice, same look. It had the most pointless, hollow, overworld ever. IT DOESN'T NEED ONE. Level to level is all you need. Stupid pointless mini games and a horrible story. A game isn't all graphics but, holy shit, this has got shit graphics. It could barely pass for GCN. It also tries to pull of cel shading, but it looks dook. It's not likes it's an anime either. If it was, it would be an awful anime.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Is it a well-made game that successfully brought the franchise to the 3rd dimension? Yes. Does it avoid having any major, crippling flaws? Yes. Is it as un-fucking-touchable as many make it out to be? No. I've enjoyed all the Zeldas just as much. if not more, than this one.

Oh, and Portal. Yes, it's a blast to play, but no one ever seems to mention the little important tidbit that you don't have two portals until halfway through the game. I was told the game was short; I wasn't told that half of that game is a friggin tutorial.

Portal 2 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. You get the Portal gun very early and you instantly have blue and orange portals. There is also one tutorial that involves saying apple. So much better.

I think the first Legend of Zelda is overrated, there is no way to know where to go, and you have to grind like crazy.

Yea agreed. Tetris is fun, but I never hear anyone say it's the best game ever made. I've never heard that

SMG2 is indeed very overrated haha, but Tetris is not very hyped at all. SO many people play it, even on facebook and shit, yet no one hypes it up or praises it (that much).

I don't even think SMG2 is overrated. I still have yet to hear a real person say it's the best game ever made.

On metacritic SMG and SMG2 are both below OoT by 2 points with OoT being at 99 but on game rankings they are all tied at 97 with SMG at 97.64 and OoT at 97.58 and SMG2 at 97.35. No idea why SMG has a higher score there because SMG2 is better than it but its even a bigger joke that they are tied with OoT.

VERY big joke. even those games having 97s and 99s, JOKE. I would give galaxy one like an 84 at best. galaxy 2 was better though, maybe like a 92.

Yea agreed. I don't like the argument, "It was better than the last game, but it was too similar, to it's worse". Like, SMG2 was better in everyway than Galaxy so I don't know why they would be tied.

Also like Left 4 Dead 2. Like, if L4D2 ever has a worse score than L4D1....joke. L4D2 has ALL the L4D maps plus the news ones, including all the new weapons and zombies and stuff

All the GTA's. Only fun just messing around with them considering their stories are trash. Even then, just going on a killing rampage in any of them get's boring quick. Not worth buying.

That's why I liked Red Dead better. Had a better story, and at least they tried something different for once. Still crap controls though.
