Most overrated movie

I only dislike one of these movies i'm gonna list but i don't hate any of them.

But please keep trolling to a minimum.

And with that said here is my list.

Pulp fiction: funny as hell, liked all the characters, and found myself really interested in the way the story was told in an very different, and fascinating way. But the dialogue of the characters started to annoy me, The way the plot was arranged turned out to be pointless, and the fact that everyone who loves it just loves it to the point of orgaziming automatically makes this overrated on its own.

The Avengers (Marvel version): It is as dumb as hell, the story has many major faults, and it is just a funnier Michael bay with all the faults (minus bad humor).

Walle: really heavy handed plot, it's villain is a shameless ripoff of Hal 9000, and its pretty damn forgettable.

More overrated films
Titanic: the story has been done a million times before, its too long, and the soundtrack is also overrated.
The Dark Knight: Its not one of the best movies ever, and what the fuck is wrong with the people in all the Nolan batman movies they all monologue like crazy, and its pretty pretentious.
Citizen Kane: I do like this movie and understand its importance but it is a dated movie (mainly in it's acting)

Fight Club: I truly can't express how overrated this film is. I would gladly call it the most overrated movie of all time. It's generally mediocre. The film is ugly, it's directionless. My main problem is the theme, the film develops strong (postmodern) themes that deal with commercialism, industrialism, and the human condition, and by the end of the movie they throw away all of those great themes and replace it with a very generic, cheesy, over used, and OVER FORCED theme about the duality of man.

Inception: Way too overrated. Nolan fans pulverized this movie. It's not as epic everyone says it is, if anything it tries too hard. To me, most of the movie was, "Look at the effects! Mind Fuck! SO CRAAAAAAZY". I think the effects got nauseating because of how often they would try to create something crazy. It's also not deep like everyone says it is. We have to go deeper. No, we really don't.

I will now allow t.v. shows

All sonic based ones, on grounds that they suck

Transformers first gen and second gen: first one sucks because it is poorly drawn, lame humor, bad writing, good voice acting though. Second gen is much better but the human characters are much much worse and eat up much more screen time.

He-Man and the masters of the universe: Shit art, shit story, shit voice acting (exculdeing, SKELATOR!), shit characters, and it was shit!

Thunder cats: not bad, but ruined by snarf, plus the animation wasn't that good.

Gi-Joe: ok, but kind of lame.

Equilibrium: ones of those cult films that built up because of a fan base that talked the movie up so highly. Dated as hell effects (some of which that don't make sense), it is the least subtle movie ever with a really heavy handed message, tries way to hard to be cool by inventing "gunfoo" which just make the movie look like a Matrix rip off. Although there is one cool scene in a hallway, but that's it.

OHFUCK, breaking bad, probably the most overrated anything I know.

LOST: Holy fuck it's dook. The creators were trying to be too deep with the shit load of religious undertones, and they put in too many mysteries and you eventually forget about most of them. They promised the ending wouldn't be about religion....whew.....they should did fuck up. It's good up until they leave the island

My little Pony is ridiculously Over rated
Some pretty stock a generic characters, art, and a fan base that loves them way too much. I mean there is a rather late supply of people who jerk off to the show, which I Grose cause its a kid show.

Yes I am fully aware of the fact that cloppers only make up a tiny fraction the fan base but the core fan base is still a bunch of rabid fan boys and fan girls who are just as bad as the otaku fan girls.

I actually agree. There's nothing immaculate about this show. There's plenty to criticize.
That said, I still think it's a solid cartoon. The way I see it, the only reason this show has such a periphery demographic is the brand name. The fact that a show based off of a big-name little-girl-toy and originally designed simply to sell said toys can achieve such...standard quality seems to fascinate people.

Makes me wonder how bad the stuff before must have been to lower the expectations so.

Your point is true. If the show was based on an entirely new series and brand itself it probably would'nt get the same amount of attention.

Just look at Adventure Time. Another children's cartoon that seems to be well-received, but hasn't reached nearly as memetic a status as My Little Pony.

Friendship is Magic almost seems to be a sort of "forbidden fruit", something that requires a level of bravery to openly enjoy in front of adults.

speaking of Adventure Time,

Adventure Time: Very overrated now. It seems most people LOVE this show. Honestly, the humour is lame. It's the exact same randomness every episode, which people love, RANDOM WAHO BANANAS. It's nice and colourful but the character designs are lazy which seem to be coming off as ~Kawaiii~ and hipstery. There's nothing really special about the show, it just seems like a Flash animation show on Newgrounds.

The internet made this show worse. So much kife fan fiction and porn. Just go on DA and you'll hate the show even more.

i agree with all that. I also think that NOTHING is overrated, its just the opinions of several hundered thousand people usually

I do think Adventure Time is overrated. But I still strongly enjoy it, hilarious and fresh, great art, but humor is overdone for sure.

I know what you mean Vyzor about how a fan-base can harm your opinion on a show, movie or game, but you cant let it ruin the show. Look at all the stuff you like there's no way there isn't a large group of people who would have ruined the show for you if you knew about the fans ahead of time. Your just judging the shows fan-base off of people from deviantart, that's like judging all Germans based off Nazis.

Very true, can't let other fans affect your opinion of the show, it's something completely different. Of course, it's a factor into how overrated a show is, but once it actually affects your opinion then that's getting into some meta inception shit.

I try not to let fans ruin my love for Pulp Fiction, or Buffy, or other stuff and such. It is hard sometimes though.

Again I completely understand Sonic fans annoy the shit out of me, and Nintendo fan-boys who think that Nintendo is always right can piss me off. But think about it like this Muammar Gaddafi's favorite movie was The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. And ill be damned if someone says that is a bad movie.

I lol'd hard at that gandalf69. Sorry, I wasn't basing Adventure Time's fanbase off of DA, that was just an example. I can see why you guys HATE MLP. If I hadn't gotten into earlier I would have joined you guys. I like the show but I can admit, I really hate the fanbase. There is a lot of regular fans, but the majority consist of weaboo otaku neckbeard freaks. It's getting more embarrassing being apart of the fanbase. Just the fact that when you type "mlp" in google one of the suggestions is "mlp r34". Like, at least when you type in adventure time, porn isn't a suggestion :/

I don't know about that, there are plenty of things out there that most people think is really good when it isn't like deathproof there are still people out there who think that it is better than shawshank redemption just because Quintin terintion made it. (probably spellt that name wrong)

And i am aware that is just blind fandum but i'm just trying to say that some movies are highly praised and over time it gets a huge following. After that following gets bigger the overall opinion of the the movie (not just an imdb rating) gets really high and sometimes higher than it should be. So you do have to take the cor fanbases opinion into factor.

I watched a couple episodes of Adventure Time at Cassie's house. I like it actually. It was pretty funny. I honestly enjoyed it more than MLP
