Edit: While surfing on IMDb, realized another insanely overrated show. Avatar has a 9.1. I've watched that show a bit and.... oh boy... Korra also has a 9.1. Adventure Time only has an 8.8 on IMDb.

I never cared for avatar. The last air bender. I thought it was pretty mediocre. Legend of Koran is much better. Although you should never judge a show based. On its rating on imdb, cause they are all way to high. The reason adventure time is that low(for tv shows on imdb anyway) is probably because of my little Pony fans feeling threatened by the show.
Also bigger the fan following the bigger the bashing it will get.

agree/understand with everything you said, I don't judge off IMDb ratings because as you said they are either all over rated or some that have a big fan base are under rated because things that are liked are hated even more than things that are unknown. I'm not judging Avatar from the score, because I've watched it. Kora on the other hand I have never seen, so don't really have heavy opinions on its overratedness (although I know it is heavily related to Avatar, so I can't help but believe it is a little overrated)

lol legend of koran would make a very different show.
btw if you really didn't like avatar then don't bother with Kora, it might be a lot better but it still resembles avatar, mainly in the humor. Although the writing and characters are much better. It even has J.K. Simmons (cave johnson, and jay jona jamason)

I just have never cared for Avatar so maybe thats why I dont like Korra.

Also, FIrefly is the most overrated Sci-fi show ever. It's generic

Pacific Rim is overrated. In fact let me sum up what the movie, and the fans basically say about it

"Oi its just a movie about robots man! it doesn't need to be high art."

I agree that it doesn't need to be anything more than a good b-movie. That doesn't excuse the movie the movie for being fucking stupid though.
