The Scenes in Songs - Page 2 Empty The Fool's Journey.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Thu 11 Aug 2016, 9:49 pm

    For July 28

    Song: Rare Respite
    Artist: Patrick Burns
Album: Donkey Kong Country 2: Serious Monkey Business (can be found off of ocremix.org)

0:00-0:28: The Smiling Fool sets out on his Journey. The elderly couple who has been housing him for the past week look on in concern, wondering how we will manage to get by. He has no known family, no friends who can help him. He assures them that he'll be just fine.

0:28-3:53: A montage of adventure across Europe. Taking the train from country to country. Hiking to the tops of mountains without taking a single picture. Wrestling with moose. Feeding bears. Paying for food, shelter and transportation by doing various odd jobs. Unwittingly thwarting various villainous Master Plans. Making (and sometimes saving) someone's day, every day.

3:53-End: The Fool dips his feet in a lake, gazing at the sun as it sets.

The Scenes in Songs - Page 2 Empty Despair.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Thu 11 Aug 2016, 10:18 pm

    For July 29

Song: (Progeny) Of a Frail Humanity
Artist: David L. Puga, Mak Eightman
Album: Badass Volume III (found off of ocremix.org)

The setting: a once-bustling metropolis ravaged by war. A dark, cloudy sky hangs overtop. Homes have been shattered. Most buildings are missing their roofs. The tallest ones are missing several of their top floors. A school crumbles into a pile of rubble.

The citizens shamble everywhere sluggishly, nowhere to go and no desire to stay put. The sick and injured lie all over the roads with no fear of oncoming traffic because no cars are longer running. Electric power is cut off. An innocent population is at its end.

As the song swells to a climax, a front of black, oily rain rapidly approaches from the distance. The rain is surprisingly destructive, smashing into the crippled skyline and crushing what structures remain into clouds of dust. Depressed murmurs erupt into screams of terror as a black mist devours the doomed citizens. Sound itself is engulfed in the storm.

The city implodes, leaving nothing but a flat, inky stain on the Earth.

The Scenes in Songs - Page 2 Empty Lovely.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Thu 11 Aug 2016, 11:10 pm

    For July 30

    Song: Lunar Rebellion
    Artist: IanFitC
Album: Final Fantasy IX: Worlds Apart (found off of ocremix.org)

An assembly of political figures from across the nation are gathered in a large chamber to discuss recent happenings. A small band of Criminals have been traversing the land, stealing various artifacts and vandalizing various buildings.

The Criminals' speed in moving from city to city and their ability to outwit and outmaneuver every police force sent after them is alarming, as is the way they vanish in flurry of shadows acter every heist.

At 0:47, all of a sudden; one of the Criminals pops up in the middle of the chamber with a grin, leaning against a podium and waving around a stack of Secret Documents. The group gathered is stunned.

The Criminal strolls around in the middle of the chamber, aggravating the politicians with sardonic quips. He does this for a while,

Until 2:27, when he suddenly gets a very serious look on his face, and his body begins to glow with a dark green light. The light extends around him into thin branches. Swirling clouds of light appear behind him, taking vague forms of hideous beasts.
Criminal wrote:You know it's time. Sins light up your kingdom and show the way to a wondrous feast. Continue to ignore the calendar, and watch all of your walls burn in a sea of expiration. The sun is no protector. The forests are no providers. They are all doors for your predators.

You know it's time. THEY know it's time. The Committed are free.

The Scenes in Songs - Page 2 Empty Boom boom pow

Post by Cephalo the Pod Thu 11 Aug 2016, 11:53 pm

    For July 31

    Song: French Touch Puta Madre
    Artist: Shaka Ponk
    Album: Bad Porn Movie Trax

It's a city-wide chase sequence. It's a whole crew of heroes versus one particularly slippery culprit. The runaway has all sorts of tricks up his sleeves and down his pockets.

He seems to melt into every shadow. He bounches from wall to ground to car to wall without missing a beat. He can produce multiple copies of himself, and they're all fake and the real guy was actually disguised as a raven the whole time. He can render all of his pursuers disoriented with a stomp of his foot.

As the song ends, he gets away on top of a dump truck that vanishes along with him.

The Scenes in Songs - Page 2 Empty Super Smash Bros. Coming September 2026.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Sun 14 Aug 2016, 11:57 pm

    For August 1st

    Song: Challenger Approaching
Artist: Rozen (feat. Lauren Intravia, Brenda Puepka, Omar Najmi & Angel Mannion)
    Album: Harmony of Heroes

If Super Smash Bros. ever got an animated adaptation, this could be its trailer music.

0:00-1:15: In the depths of space, we zoom in on Final Destination. Master Hand rises up on to the screen and laments over how empty his universe his. He decides to "invite" warriors from various dimensioms.

1:15-2:05: We cut to a tracking shot of various Nintendo characters falling through a wormhole and fighting each other. Mario chucks a fireball at Link. Captain Falcon and Fox trade blows. Samus fires a flurry of Power Beam shots. Ness gets chased by Mewtwo.

2:05-2:25: We have various shots of Master Hand explaining what he's just done and why. One character (Link?) protests. Master Hand flicks him away comically.

2:25-2:35: Various shots of villains appearing and attacking the heroes. At 2:34 we fade to black, and a flash of boue lightning reveals several villains who don't show up in the actual games: K. Rool, Dark Samus, Zant, etc.

2:35-3:02: More assorted action shots. Characters fighting on Stages. Electrode pops on to Saffron City. Logs fall apart on Kongo Jungle. Falco side-b's off of Princess Peach's Castle.

3:02-3:26: We get audio of an emotional conversation between two characters, overlayed by big sweeping shots of various horizons, indicating the dramatic theme around which the show will revolve. We get a shot of a character doing something very silly (Like; I dunno, Captain Falcon shouting "CAPTAIN FALCON HERE, TELLING YOU TO DRINK G-ENERGY!!!") indicating that the show won't be too dramatic and will maintain a light-hearted action vibe throughout).

3:26-4:27: Another montage of action shots, much more dramatic. Show heroes and villains charging at each other. Maybe end with Mario shooting a Mario Finale.

But just imagine, like, a whole slew of animated shows adapting various Nintendo franchises. And then this coming out. It's be like the Avengers.

The Scenes in Songs - Page 2 Empty In space, no one can hear you die heroically. They can see you, though. They don't want to.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Mon 15 Aug 2016, 12:15 am

    For August 2

    Song: Space Defender
    Artist: Akmigone
    Album: Harmony of Heroes

Out In Space, a lone Pilot sends his ship crashing into the Villains' Superweapon. The rest of the crew (in the main spaceship, making a run for it) look on in horror as the small, distant light of the Pilot's ship meets up with the Superweapon, and the Superweapon is engulfed in a massive soundless explosion.

The Scenes in Songs - Page 2 Empty Based off a dream I once had.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Mon 15 Aug 2016, 12:27 am

    Song: Victory! (World Champion)
From Pokemon OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire (I'm pretty sure it's not in the main game. It's like, one of those online tournament things)

Our Heroes are facing off against a peculiar enemy this time. It's a giant greenish-black fly. It sometimes spontaneously erupts into a mound of screaming, toothless, eyeless faces. It floats slowly around the city wreaking havoc.

The Scenes in Songs - Page 2 Empty Is brainwashing dozens of children too cartoonishly evil?

Post by Cephalo the Pod Mon 15 Aug 2016, 12:52 am

    For August 4

Song: Cadence of Her Last Breath
    Artist: Nightwish
    Album: Dark Passion Play

Our Heroes have been lured into a large warehouse. The villain shows up, monologues, and then reveals their new weapon: a battalion of brainwashed superpowered children.

Our Heroes now have to escape the area while being swarmed by dozens of brainwashed children. Machinery is ripped apart and thrown around. Electricity zaps back and forth across the warehouse. The roof of the building crumples and collapses.

The ground of the warehouse and its lot is ripped apart, revealing a massive death trap. A big pit full of molten steel opens up. The brainwashed children attempt to push Our Heroes down into the pit through their sheer numbers. Our Heroes push out of the horde and run/fly off.

The Scenes in Songs - Page 2 Empty Boy do I like killing cities.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Mon 15 Aug 2016, 1:40 am

    For August 5

    Song: Amazonic
Artist: Maksim, Tim Bran, Pete Lockhart, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Matt Dunkley (originally composed by Honči Tuljić)
Album: Variations: Part 1, Part 2

The Villain witnesses their latest handiwork via camera; an entire city is burning to the ground. Buildings collapse into heaps of rubble. Any attempts at rescue and crowd control are overwhelmed by the sheer magnitiude of the destruction.

Hundreds of thousands of people are running around in panic and despair. In the ensuing panic, Our Heroes get separated by one another. In the distance, we see the city glow with a terrifying fire in the night.

The Scenes in Songs - Page 2 Empty What's that, like, THREE doomed cities so far?

Post by Cephalo the Pod Mon 15 Aug 2016, 11:23 pm

    For August 6

    Song: Ambitious Whispers, Immoral Chants
    Artist: Archangel
Album: Final Fantasy IX: Worlds Apart (found off of ocremix.org)

A massive humanoid shadow rises over the facade of a skyscraper. The shadowy titan extends outward and becomes tangible. Various heroes dash towards it, attempting to stop its carnation. They are swiftly impeded by the villain and her henchmen.

The massive shadowy figure looms quietly over the city. It stretches its limbs, plays with "small" flames and bolts of lightning between its fingers. Suddenly, small orange-red cracks form across its body.

Massive plumes of black smoke, far larger in size than their apparent source, shoot out from the collosal humanoid. The smoke engulfs the city like a fog. The collosus slowly shambles away.

    Song: Oceanic Museum

The Legion of Heroes is holding a special event where regular citizens can come in and learn more about the organization and its history. Protraits of late famous members, with small blurbs summarizing their biggest accomplishments, line the walls.

    Song: Mt. Chimney
    From Pokemon OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire

A small group of ineffectual teenage villains are bumbling about high up a forested mountain. They've said up a real miserable shack of a "base" and are panicking over the heroes who are on their trail.

They're arguing with each other and coming up with (and subsequently shooting down each other's) terrible, silly ideas for how to elude their pursuers. A lot of shouting is involved.

The Scenes in Songs - Page 2 Empty Would this count as a Kaiju?

Post by Cephalo the Pod Tue 16 Aug 2016, 1:59 pm

    For August 9

    Song: Totentanz
Artist: Maksim, Tim Bran, Pete Lockhart, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Matt Dunkley (originally composed by Franz Liszt)
Album: Variations: Part 1, Part 2

0:00-1:05: The monster emerges. A large skyscraper begins to crack apart. Massive arms, both metallic and organic, pop out of the walls. Upper sections of the building detach completely from the base and float in the air. The whole structure twists around like clay. Water and electricity spray outward.

At 1:05, the battle commences. The large monster smashes everything within reach of its arms. Hundreds of pieces of glass, wood, concrete and metal are shot out like bullets. Our Heroes jump and fly around to evade its attacks.

They strike back with large, precise blows. Lightning from the sky hits the skyscraper spot on. A massive pillar of earth is driven straight through. The building-beast gradually grows sluggish until it stops moving entirely. The floating parts fall to the ground with great crashes. The arms fall down lifelessly.

    Song: Venari Strigas
    From Puella Magi: Madoka Magica

The battle is set in an old, seemingly abandoned mansion. The opponent is a large, slender, three-headed woman.

She crawls along the walls like a lizard and throws chunks of floor and wall with unbelievable strength. The entire place is dark as night, but she can maneuver with alarming speed and agility. She groans, rattles, and shrieks, sending vibrations throughout the entire building.

The Scenes in Songs - Page 2 Empty I am not a friend of architecture.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Sat 20 Aug 2016, 1:02 am

    For August 11

    Song: Appassionata
Artist: Maksim (originally composed by Ludwig von Beethoven)
    Album: Appassionata

Atop a tall skyscraper, against a grim cloudy sky, two heroes exhausted from a long day of fending off nefarious forces are assaulted by a giant hummingbird-monster made of metal and crystal. It's wings vibrate audibly, and when they come into contact with a surface they shred it to dust. Its shrieks sound like a thousand knifes scraping against one another.

The heroes have their escape attempts repeatedly thwarted by the velocious beast. They can't go inside; the villain is sitting inside ready to capture them. They are forced to make perilous jumps from ledge to lower ledge. All the while, the giant bird is crashing into the building and sending shards of glass and metal everywhere.

The bird-monster, in a bout of primal rage, sends out a shockwave that sends the heroes and a good chunk of the skyscraper tumbling down.

As the world is on the verge of a massive societsl upheaval, the Main Villain pits Our Heroes against their entire Rogues Gallery; a coalition of all of the nominal villains the heroes have ever faced.

The villains work together surprisingly well; the Main Villain is offering a lot in return for all of their cooperation. The Rogues Gallery will be a valuable asset in the New World.

    For August 13

    Song: Time's End
    Artist: Theophany
Album: Time's End: Majora's Mask Remixed

0:00-0:57: A small country lies broken in defeat. Most of the military and other such defensive forces have been demolished and scattered. Thick, dark clouds cover the sky at sunset.

0:57-2:16: The clouds part as the nation's dreaded nemesis, a massive, violent Goddess, descends from the heavens slowly and gracefully. The sky glows a reddish-orange.

2:16-2:48: The people, having lost all hope, begin to panic and riot. Thousands of screams echo across the city and vandalism spreads like a wave.

2:48-4:24: Within the capital city, the political leaders collapse in despair as reports of their incoming demise pile in. There is no call to make. There is no time.

4:24-5:49: The Goddess stops her descent a few hundred metres off of the ground. The wind picks up where she lands. She gives off her own dazzling light, shining like the sun. Her face is calm, emotionless.

5:49-7:00: She makes a beeline for the capital, and the natiom burns. Whole fields catch fire. Buildings collapse like dirt. Across the countryside, huge gashes form in the earth. The capital's defensive walls shatter like glass.

7:00-7:32: The Goddess floats over the parliament building, one last soldier standing in her way on its roof.

A very young Samus Aran has been brought to the house of Old Bird the Chozo on Zebes following the Space Pirate attack that decimated the Earth colony on K-2L. She's all alone and doesn't know what's going on.

One night, she goes downstairs after hearing Old Bird and Grey Voice arguing about her. She tearfully asks them where she's going to go now. Old Bird goes to comfort her, telling her that she can stay with him and live with the Chozo as long as she wants to.

At the end, the camera zips up into the sky and looks down on Planet Zebes. It then moves to the stars beyond.

    For August 18

    Song: Slow, Love, Slow
    Artist: Nightwish
    Album: Imaginaerum

It starts off calmly enough, with the villain having a conversation with the hero in the comfort of their own lair. The villain is trying to talk their opponent down from their heroics, because it's more cost-effective than fighting.

The chat starts off amicably enough, but after the hero expresses enough stubbornness, at 3:51, the villain finally plays their trump card. They have established a massive network of spies within Our Heroes' base that's closely monitoring every one of the hero's teammates.

The villain then tells the hero, in no uncertain terms, that they are to fulfill whatever requests may be handed to them at any time, and refusal to do so will be met with lethal consequences. Before the hero knows it, they're already back home.

    For August 19

    Song: Terror Adhaerens
    From Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Within a hollow mountain, a massive, hulking beast plays with its food. It taunts the helpless human, mocking his stupidity for allowing it to catch him. The man is terrified, facing the titan of flesh and steel.

The beast wears a dirty, tattered robe, and has deep yellow eyes that look simply deflated. It's head looks flat, and hangs loosely from a thin, skeletal neck. Thin strips of jagged metal amd gemstone protrude from its massive body. It's voice resembles a hundred pairs of feet marching on steel.

The voice grows deeper and deeper as the cavern dims and the beast leans towards its meal.
