The Scenes in Songs Empty The Scenes in Songs

Post by Cephalo the Pod Fri 08 Jul 2016, 11:12 pm

In this thread, I will (attempt to) post about one song every day. I will then describe the scenario that I form in my mind when I listen to that song.

Feel free to make your own posts!

The Scenes in Songs Empty First!

Post by Cephalo the Pod Fri 08 Jul 2016, 11:36 pm

    Song: Darksightedness
    Artist: Kammo64 (from OCRemix)
    Album: BadAss III

0:00-0:47: The set-up. A group of heroes is stuck in a massive, dim room lined with odd-looking machinery. It almost looks and feels like a cave.

0:47-1:01: The "cave" lights up with thousands of red dots as half-biotic half-cybernetic monstrosities ready themselves to hunt the heroes down.

1:01-1:13: The chase begins. Lots of flying around, narrowly dodging flying swoops and hundreds of projectiles.

1:13-1:32: A moment of quiet. A large monster sneaks up behind the heroes.

1:32-1:58: The large monster attacks with slow, powerful blasts and strikes.

1:58-2:23: A fall down a large verticle tunnel, followed by explosions and hurtling debris and other such chaos.

2:23-3:15: Battle with a major villain. The heroes are doing their best to just survive and escape.

And then the rest of the song is the heroes triumphantly escaping the clutches of the villain and the monsters under their command.

The Scenes in Songs Empty Horray for consistency!

Post by Cephalo the Pod Sat 09 Jul 2016, 11:05 pm

    Song: Big Giant Throbbing Rocket
    Artist: Big Giant Circles
Is a rearrangement of a song from Danny Baranowsky's Super Meat Boy OST. Can be found on ocremix.org, but also on a Special Edition of the soundtrack.

0:00-0:32: The set-up. A character's newly emerging teleportation powers are going out of control.

0:32-1:36: The character is teleporting all over the place. In the middle of a busy road, inside one building, inside of another, groind floor, second floor, roof.

1:36-2:24: The character is gripping perilously over the side of the roof of a very tall building.

2:24-3:28: The climax; the character loses their grip and falls from the skyscraper.

And then heroes swoop in to save the newbie superhuman as the song comes to its end.

The Scenes in Songs Empty The ultimate villain theme.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Mon 11 Jul 2016, 12:20 am

    Song: Saren's Prayer
    Artist: Mazedude
    Album: BadAss (from OCRemix)

This is the music to be played when the main villain first introduces themselves, just walking in to the middle of a big battle. They tell all of the heroes and lesser villains to knock that shit off, and lay out how things are gonna be from now on. No one dares stand up to this villain. Everyone, himself included, knows how much of a threat they are.

The Scenes in Songs Empty Doesn't this sound fun?

Post by Cephalo the Pod Tue 12 Jul 2016, 12:37 am

Song: The Eyes of Sharbat Gula
    Artist: Nightwish
    Album: Endless Forms Most Beautiful

Crowds of people near a grim coastline. The sky is blanketed with black clouds that expose only a dim orange light at the horizon. The wind picks up speed. A mighty enemy is on its way. It's terrifying presence can be felt by the populace. The people are being loaded onto escape craft. There's no hope of saving our homeland. The most we can do is flee.

lol man these are sick. genuinely makes me think twice about the way i listen to music.

i never visualize real things, when i am giving it my all listening to music i usually just see nonsense things in my head and feel the emotions at a really low level.

or if i've lost focus on just listening i'll think about w.e, never complete fiction though, usually things in my life or conceptual stuff

The Scenes in Songs Empty Have some horrific cultism.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Tue 12 Jul 2016, 11:11 pm

    Song: Canto Mortis
From the Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy soundtrack.

This song evokes two related scenarios:

    1) In the midst of an intense battle between heroes and villains in the middle of a city, a large godlike being descends. For a while now, our heroes have been dreading this entity's arrival. The god slowly walks around the area, coldly examining the combatants, the cowering civilians. This person's fanatic worshippers bow in submission, and the god officially declares this nation to as of now be under his/her rule.

    2) Our heroes have discovered a secret door in an isolated house in the woods. The door leads to a massive chamber, luxuriously decorated and littered with corpses. It's clear that the people ceremoniously sacrificed themselves. After some quick observation, it's discovered that these people gave their lives in an attempt to prove themselves to a religious figure they worshipped.

The Scenes in Songs Empty Guitar.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Wed 13 Jul 2016, 10:03 pm

    Song: Ignite
Artist: Sebastien Mårtensson (feat. Helena Burström)
Album: Harmony of Heroes: Final Smash

This takes place the morning after a battle with an enemy attacking an area with a lot of civilians around. All over the news, one hero who played a significant role in averting disaster is getting a lot of congratulations.

The hero in question, sitting in an office lounge, is reading an internet article about it and is feeling pretty embarassed, since they're not normally the action-hero type and feel like they shouldn't get so much attention.

    For Thursday

    Song: Magical Girls' Live Stream
    Artist: Steampianist, MiMA & ryokodesu97
    Album: Harmony of Heroes

This song is the intro to a character pair; a mother and a young daughter. The daughter has a power that only works when the mother is nearby, so they work together as a duo.

The Scenes in Songs Empty Guys the Shinesparkers are making a new album.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Sat 16 Jul 2016, 12:47 am

    Song: Ashes to Ashes
    Artist: Zircon
    Album: Harmony of a Hunter

0:00-0:44: The set-up; someone is exploring an enemy base (in the sky).

0:44-1:10: We get a big, dramatic zoom-out shot of this huge, glowing-red chamber full of alien-looking technology. Towers that extend downward for kilometres are lined with translucent tubes carrying glowing fluid. Skeletal mechanical limbs move frantically about, carrying parts and adjusting equipment.

1:10-2:13: Anxiously, the infiltrator attempts to learn more about this facility, examining interfaces and tanks containing floating lumps of what look to be organic matter.

2:13-3:28: Inhuman sentries detect the infiltrator, calling forth even more monsters to swarm her. The whole place seems to come alive with the purpose of killing this uninvited presence.

The Scenes in Songs Empty Holy shit.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Tue 19 Jul 2016, 9:47 pm

For Saturday. WARNING: This one gets a little violent.

    Song: Heavy Rain
    From Pokemon (Omega)Ruby and (Alpha)Sapphire.

Dead bodies have been discovered. They've been murdered horrifically and are being studied by an elite crew of forensic scientists at the scene of the crime.

The positioning of the bodies is very odd. They're scattered about, some on the ground, others strewn on broken windows. There appear to be no bullet holes or knife wounds. It's almost as if they were thrown about through the air.

The Scenes in Songs Empty A nice tender moment.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Tue 19 Jul 2016, 10:06 pm

    For Sunday.

    Song: The Islander
    Artist: Nightwish
    Album: Dark Passion Play

A powerful force for good, exhausted from all the fighting in which he takes part day in day out, goes out into the middle of the Atlantic Ocean on his little boat. It's evening where he is. The sky is overcast. The endless water calms his emotions. He might bring a comrade or two with him to take part in the experience.

The Scenes in Songs Empty Fun.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Tue 19 Jul 2016, 10:42 pm

    For Monday

    Song: Satsuki Betrayal
    From Kill la Kill

0:00-0:58: The set-up. Our heroes are apporaching a city that's reportedly being attacked by the bad guys. Everyone's bitter and angry, at themselves and each other. Things haven't going so well lately. The enemy has been gaining strength at an alarming rate and no one really knows what to do. Suddenly, as their destination comes into view, some one points out

0:58-2:00: The city is in ruins. Engulfed in flames, entire blocks collapsing into rubble. No emergency signal was ever broadcasted from the city. Not in time.

Cut to our heroes within the burning city.

2:00-3:58: Hordes of humanoid shadowy figures crawl out of the flames and rubble. The only visible features on their faves are massive, sunken eyes and hideously long mouths with teeth like glass shards. The citizens have been altered. And now they assail the outsiders. For their new Emperor.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Wed 20 Jul 2016, 7:56 pm

    Song: Goodbye
    Artist: Brandon Strader
Can be found on OCRemix's home page.

0:00-2:37: Victory. After a long battle full of explosions and flying debris, the villain has been pacified. A calm spreads amongst the heroes as they begin to collect themselves and make their way out of the enemy base, which is in shambles.

2:37-3:59: Ohp, the enemy base is actually beginning to fall apart. Our heroes narrowly evade a shower of falling chunks of ceiling, wooden frames and miscellaneous metalwork as they dash for the exit. There may be an explosion or two.

The Scenes in Songs Empty Coming back!!!

Post by Cephalo the Pod Sun 07 Aug 2016, 10:58 pm

    For July 21

    Song: Habanero
    Artist: Maksim
    Album: Appasionata

Set-up: A woman has been doing amateur detective work on a very mysterious man. His schedule makes no sense; he seems to cross long distances in impossibly short amounts of time. She tries following him home every night, but she always loses focus for just a moment and then he suddenly vanishes.

One night, she gets as close to him as ever, when all of a sudden he seems to fall through the ground. She soon follows suit. The song follows her freefall through a titanic underground sustem of tunnels, all the while the man jumps from wall to wall, perfectly comfortable with the environment.

The tunnels are lined with rainbow-coloured gems, like scales on a reptile. Strange instruments of twisted shape poke out all over the walls of the tunnels, blinking and rotating. The tunnel twists and turns drastically and constantly, but the woman continues to fall without hitting any of the walls, never losing speed.

As the song ends, the woman gradually slows down as she lands in a large dome-like room, full of active, haphazardly arranged electronic screens.

The Scenes in Songs Empty Still coming back!!!

Post by Cephalo the Pod Sun 07 Aug 2016, 11:35 pm

    For July 22

    Song: PotatOS
    From Portal 2

Within a hospital battered and ruined by a recent battle, a secret underground facility is discovered. This facility was used to utilise and contain people mutated, both physically and mentally, by experiments.

The inmates make no attempt to escape the now decrepit prison. Some are physically incapable of leaving their rooms. Others are emptionally vacant, depressed and traumatized to the point of a vegetative state. Others seem utterly unaware of their predicament.

    Song: Road Trip
    Artist: KingTiger
Album: Sonic CD: Temporal Duality (can be found off of ocremix.org)

After behaving very antognatistically towards are heroes, Some Magical Trickster Asshole comes to Our Heroes to compensate for the stress he's caused in their lives.

He offers them a luxurious vacation (specifically, a week-long stay at a large, gorgeous abandoned MANSION!), speaking with a mildly cryptic tone the whole time.

Christ, what an asshole. But the trip sounds nice.

    For July 24

Song: I Lost My Balls in Moscow
    Artist: AkumajoBelmont, Dimmignatt
Album: Super Dodge Ball: Around the World (found off of ocremix.org)

A man and his recently orphaned neice are cowering in their apartment. They have just received an ominous phone call from a crime lord.

All of a suddenBAM! The Crime Lord rips open their door with his superpower. He demands, as he has before, that the young girl come with him. She has a superpower as well, and her father was indebted to the criminal organization.

The man and his niece run for their lives from the Crime Lord. The man uses a gun he stole beforehand to fight off the henchman in their way. In her state of panic, the girl's powers start going on the fritz.

The Crime Lord rips apart the apartment building to catch up to the runaways, and then destroys the man's car to stop their escape. The young girl fights back with their own power; various nearby objects float in the air for a moment before colliding together. This happens multiple times.

The man and his niece fend off the assailants long enough to steal their car and drive off.

The Scenes in Songs Empty I don't think this is what Coldplay intended.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Wed 10 Aug 2016, 12:34 am

    For July 25

    Song: Viva la Vida
Artist: David Garrett (originally made by Coldplay)
    Album: Music

The song starts off with a city in shambles in the thick of night, its power plant currently shut down, with a large battalion of enemy aircraft charging forth to tear it apart. A crew of people are scrambling around the power plant, trying to get power back online.

Then, starting at 1:51, they succeed. With a bird's eye view, we see the lights across the city flash on in a sudden burst. Radio communication is back online. Massive machinery starts whirring as heavy shields rise up to block out the invaders.

Military personnel man their stations to fight off the enemy. As aircraft zip across the sky just above the heights of the city, missiles and bombs follow, striking their targets true. The enemy was prepared to scavenge a desolate, vulnerable ruin, not a fully fortified city-state. The aircraft are quickly repelled.

Post by Cephalo the Pod Thu 11 Aug 2016, 8:41 pm

    For July 26

    Song: The Almighty
    From Persona 4

The setting: a large expanse of sky high above the clouds, the sun about to set. Large floating pillars surround the area.

Our Heroes are racing to stop the Enemy's Ultimate Weapon from obliterating Their Home. A Dreaded Nemesis stands in their way. He flings them around, nearly sending them down in freefalls multiple times.

They are scared but experienced, determined not to repeat Past Mistakes. Bit by but they chip away at the Ultimate Weapon, a History of Failure pushing them to Victory.
