Re: Pokémon
Grass really gets pooped on with starters. Water is one of the best typings in the game, access to Scald and priority like Aqua jet makes it amazing. Fire also is a great attacking type being effective against fairy as well makes it so much better. We need parity for grass

The game is a glitchy mess of diarrhea. Their servers are constantly overloaded so it's probably not able to handle all these people.

Re: Pokémon
I'm actually liking the Alola forms thing. I enjoy the idea of a Pokemon looking different depending on the region it lives in. Plus, I think they actually did a decent job on their alola designs. They change types of course, which is interesting. The only questionable type change from that so far is Exeggutor becoming Dragon. I guess he can be looked at like a Hydra or something, with him having 3 heads and all.
Not sure how I feel about Z-Moves. It seems like a pointless gimmick to add to the combat of Pokemon. I understand them wanting to spice up the gameplay and all but I don't feel like this is a necessary change. I guess I'll just have to wait for the game to come out to see if it's actually cool.
What do you guys think?

i don't really see the appeal of zmoves, looks bland and uninspired.
but the rest of the design in the game is actually looking funky and fresh and fun, almost makes me want to play it!!!!!!

Heck ya! Also, check out this trailer:
Not to hype it up too much, but I think it's gotta be one of Nintendo's best commercials ever.

Woo, 7th gen.
"Alola Forms" seems like a great idea. Keeps the old pokemon relevant and interesting. Exeggcutor being Grass/Dragon seems a little odd, but Ice Ninetails having Fairy as a second type makes so much sense I have to wonder why Ninetails never had a second type beforehand.
The Island Challenges sound fun. Is it replacing the standard 8-gym challenge? Makes me wonder why (in-universe) Unova and Kalos have the exact same sort of Pokemom League Challenge as the four regions in Poke-Japan.
I'm liking how the view is less overhead than previous games. And, like, we're totally gonna be climbing volcanoes, right? That will be the sickest shit.
Z-moves seems just a tad too shark-jumpy. I'm having flashbacks to Digimon Frontier, with the kids fusing into Digimon spirits instead of having sentient partners.

pokeuniverse seems to take place slightly in the future, so i think it's safe to assume they are just as far into an era of globalization as us, if not more. considering this, it would make sense that there would be a global standard for this type of thing (at least amongst the 1st-world-countries) similar to the direction schooling is heading towards in our own world

Re: Pokémon
In case some of you haven't seen, Raichu, Meowth, and Marowak are also getting Alola forms. I still think they're doing a good job on the designs
The actual type changes are:
Raichu = Electric, Psychic
Meowth = Dark
Marowak = Fire, Ghost

Re: Pokémon
Oh, and I wanted to say that it's amazing just how bad some of the new pokemon names are. Like, these names are punny. But other than that, I think they're getting pretty creative with the designs. These last two gens have had some decent new pokemon additions. I think a lot of it has to do with them adding less pokemon each game, allowing them to put more thought into what the pokemon look like.
Here are some of my new favourite pokemon designs so far. Spoiler tag put below for anyone who might not want to see them.

Re: Pokémon
Man, marine biologists in the Pokemon World must get shit on a lot by everyone.
I mean, Water-types are the most common, and all the pokemon in the ocean are Water-type. Maybe marine biology is stereotyped as being the easiest and most boring of the sciences.
And maybe other scientists joke that marine biologists like to force on secondary types to Water pokemon just to make things interesting. "Oh, quagsires are Water/Ground? Yeah, sure thing Brad." "Fuck you, they're immune to electricity, and they avoid dry plants like the fucking plague."
Can you imagine how much shit got flipped when it was concluded that gyaradoses were Water/Flying? "WHAT THE FUCK!!! IT'S OBVIOUSLY A DRAGON!!!111!!!" Like how people petitioned for Pluto to be reinstated as a planet.
