Sure is dusty around here with this small pile of games being released, half of wich are remakes or ports of games most of there fans have already played. I also love how most of the games they are releasing now are just sequels anyways. Btw Nindeadno it was nice of you to do a remake of a game that was touted as one with ageless graphics (windwaker) on;y to then make a report showcasing how much better the graphics are.

Like i've said before, they pull the fucking shitty nostalgia card because they can't come up with new ideas. They can only abuse their old, good ideas. Wind Waker HD? There is still nothing released on the Wii Poo that makes it worth buying. it had a shitty launch, and I wont consider buying it until MAYBE it costs 99$ AND it has a large library. Super Mario 3D World, DKCR2, Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros should have come out near launch. Instead Wii Poo owners we're stuck with Nintendo Land and New(aka,Rehashedx4)Super Mario Bros. U. Good job Nintendo, really trying hard these days.

Wii U is doing really shitty still. Not much of a surprise. Probably has to do with the price and that people think that it's a Wii and that there's no games for it even now.

Even if the Wii U sales never pick up, Nintendo's consoles could fail for the next 20 years and they'd still be fine financially. But, here's to hoping the Wii U gets a huge price drop so I'll even consider buying it.

Holy shit that just peeves me. My Mom and Ron both thought the WiiU was just like the Wii.
What baffles me is that this has never been a problem before. I can't recall anyone thinking the 360 was just like the Xbox, or that the Game Boy Advance was just like the Game Boy.

Ya, I don't really get it either. I'm guessing the "U" part of the name isn't a very noticeable name change. Where as Advance, and 360 I guess is...? I'm not sure. I think a lot of it has to do with poor advertising. They didn't market it well enough and clearly didn't make it obvious it was an entirely new console.

But I still don't understand how that could be something that people thought. I thought that right away it was a new console. Everyone is just too lazy to look anything up about it?

Its pretty much both a naming problem as well as a marketing failure. Or at least im assuming. Iv overheard many people at gaming stores asking what the difference is between a wii and a wii u is, or if they would be able to run wii u games on there wii. My guess would be that Nintendo has always been used to a crowd that was really deep into there gaming knowledge. After all Nintndo power was one of the first gaming magazines out there and out sold the shit out of its competitors. Then when the internet came into its own everyone started sharing there knowledge with each other online, putting themselves in a bubble, and forgetting that most people really don't know that much about games or consoles. So im guessing that Nintendo made the same mistake when they made the Wii, and marketed it to a wider audience who normally wouldn't play video games let alone follow news about new up coming consoles that are, for the most part only talked about on gaming areas of the internet or in niche magazines and T.V shows. . That could also account for why they had a hard time selling other game for the system (along with the mostly shitty library of games).

Nintendo greatly overestimated the gaming knowledge of the mostly causal audience for the Wii, and are now paying for it.
